WHAT DOES IT COST

What is my fee?

$5200

Why don’t I accept insurance?

Insurance pays for pregnancy care in a lump sum, known as a global fee, after the patient has delivered. Throughout a normal pregnancy, I, as the provider, would be paying out of pocket for everything the patient needs until the time the patient’s insurance sends the payment after the delivery. Unfortunately, I’m not able to do so at this time. Additionally, many women in this are carry Medicaid, which pays for ‘what is absolutely necessary’ during pregnancy, labor, and delivery. This amount is MUCH less than the actual cost of providing care and covers absolutely none of the cost of overhead. If I charged Medicaid I’d essentially be paying the patient to deliver their baby. While that is a wonderful thought, I would not be able to provide care to many women before going bankrupt.

Although I don’t accept insurance, I can provide and itemized bill after the 6th week postpartum for patients to submit to their insurance for possible reimbursement.

What is overhead?

Overhead is what it costs me to offer my services including:

  • Mileage to and from each visit
  • General care and maintenance of vehicle
  • Malpractice insurance
  • Emergency medications/supplies on standby
  • Certifications and licensure maintenance
  • Health app subscriptions that allow me to provide the most up to date care

What does the fee cover?

  • All regular visits between 4 weeks of pregnancy and 6 weeks postpartum
  • One on one prenatal care visits
  • Personalized guidance on nutrition to maintain a low risk pregnancy
  • Urinalysis labs
  • Glucose tolerance test with fresh test
  • GBS testing at 36 weeks visit

  • Newborn care through the first 28 days of life
  • Birth certificate and social security card filing support
  • Phone/text availability nearly 24/7 (within reason)
  • Birthing supplies (usually not covered)
